PAR Earns Awards, Accolades for Excellence in Client Service


The Office of the Washoe County Clerk (Reno, NV) presented PAR March 5, 2010 with a certificate of recognition for the 2009 SIR Award - Contractor of the Year. In a letter addressed to our Reno division, the County of Washoe stated its "gratefulness" for companies like PAR who still believe client service is the "cornerstone" of a successful business.

Wind Powering America presented the Carpe Ventem (Seize the Wind) award to development partners of the Dry Lake Wind Power Project, Arizona's First Utility-Scale Wind Plant. Powering America presents Carpe Ventem Awards to the first commercial-scale wind project in a state. PAR worked with Iberdrola to complete the project.

The Associated General Contractors of America, the US DOT Federal Highway Administration and the Iowa DOT presented PAR, doing business as Longfellow Drilling, with the Iowa Quality Initiative Structures Award. The award was given in recognition of superior support and quality contributions performed on the new Keosauqua Bridge in Van Buren county, which was rated as the best steel beam bridge on a primary road system in Iowa.

The Associated General Contractors of America honored PAR with its 2008 Nevada Chapter AGC PINNACLE Award for Excellence in Client Service. PAR helped restore 10 miles of knocked out 230 kV transmission line during a snowstorm in rural Nevada. With nearly 90 structures down, PAR worked seven days a week for two months in adverse weather conditions to reconstruct the Dixie Valley Transmission line.

The Connecticut Light and Power Company and The United Illuminating Company have announced that the Middletown-Norwalk transmission project has been energized, nearly one year ahead of schedule. The project is one of the largest electric infrastructure upgrades in the country, consisting of 69 miles of 345-kilovolt (kV) high-voltage transmission lines throughout Connecticut. In their press release dated Dec. 19, 20008, CL&P and UI acknowledged the extraordinary teamwork and cooperation of several organizations and companies, including PAR Electrical Contractors, Inc.
